Charge your phone wirelessly at low cost

Today we're talking about charging mobile phone batteries with the wireless system, or Qi Wireless, so without any cable.

First we need to buy the pad that lets us charge this way. Instead of the much more famous Samsung pad, go to any electronics e-commerce site and search for "Wireless Charger": there it is, and it costs very little. I even found one on a Chinese site for just 1 EURO. Even if you buy it in Italy or on very well-known sites, it will still say Made in China and be identical to mine ;)

And that's not all, because if you don't have a latest-generation phone (S6 onwards), your device probably doesn't have the technology to charge wirelessly. So what do you do? Don't worry: just spend another 1 EURO on a universal receiver. Be VERY CAREFUL: this receiver comes in 2 versions, one with the USB connector facing up and one with it upside down, so when you buy it make sure you get the right one for your phone; the coil side goes on top and the other side attaches to your battery.

We (I) have spent just 2 euros plus about 2 more for shipping, 4 euros in total, and now I'm ready to charge my phone without ever plugging in a cable again. Let's see how.

The pad has a socket for your phone's USB cable, but don't worry, one also comes in the box. When you plug it in, an LED at the other end of the pad lights up, so at least we know it switches on :)

Have faith!

Now the receiver, which, as you've guessed, goes on top of the battery inside the back cover of your phone, with the plug inserted into the phone. If you do this with a little care, I promise that once the cover is closed nobody will notice anything.

And here we are: now all we need to do is place the phone on the pad and, like magic, it charges. You'll immediately see the pad's LED turn blue, so you know the phone really is charging.

Obviously this way of charging is slower than the old cable, but it has many advantages. The first is that it's really cool; the second is that the pad looks nice and you can use it as an ornament; after all it comes in various colours, so you can choose the one that suits you best. And just think how convenient it is!

Last but not least, the original pad costs around 100 euros and doesn't work with your phone, so you'd have to change phone and spend hundreds of euros, while this way, for less than 5 euros, you can enjoy this technology. So much for the brands! ;)
